Membership

A member is a person who contributes personal service in pursuit of the objective of the Cedar Lake Volunteer Fire Department and who meets the criteria, of which a portion is mentioned, hereafter stated for obtaining and maintaining membership.

To begin to obtain membership a person must meet all of the following, in addition to other criteria:

1. Be at least 18 years of age

2. Reside within the boundaries put forth in the Cedar Lake Volunteer Fire Department's Bylaw on Residency.

3. Have a completed application form on file with the organization.

You may contact our Headquarters Monday thru Friday 9 am – 3 pm if you are unsure if you live in the CLFD qualified areas for further membership criteria or stop by the fire station. 219-374-5961 or you may download an application here.

We encourage you to join your local volunteer fire department in your community.
